On the 1st January 2014, Leigh was successful in creating a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) known as Leigh Trust (a non-profit making charitable company limited by guarantee).  As of 1st January 2014, Leigh Primary School is an academy within Leigh Trust. 

Leigh Primary School aims to develop an extraordinary school community where all of their children, families and staff are enabled to become empowered, engaged and ethical citizens. This is achieved by nurturing each child individually through the provision of a safe and inclusive environment in which they thrive socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Leigh inspires a joy of learning through creative teaching to build on individual success which will prepare children for life. Opportunities are offered that are beyond daily routines to broaden children’s experience, influence their life choices and help them to become a valuable member of the school community and wider world.
