Rehana Yasmeen - Chief Executive Officer
Rehana has dedicated her career to improving educational outcomes and fostering leadership. She began as a Newly Qualified Teacher at Leigh Primary School in 1992, progressing through leadership roles to become Head Teacher.
As an Executive Head Teacher, she played a pivotal role in working alongside Julie to rapidly improve a school in special measures, successfully moving it to a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in all areas within just 12 months.
In January 2014, Rehana co-founded Leigh Multi Academy Trust and was appointed Deputy CEO. Throughout the Trust’s development, she has continued to take on interim headships, providing strategic leadership and hands-on support to schools requiring improvement. Over the past decade, Leigh Trust has flourished into a strong family of primary schools, each committed to delivering excellence in education.
Rehana is passionate about leadership development and has embedded a strong culture of talent spotting to drive growth and succession planning. She understands the importance of governance and accountability, having served as both a school governor and a Trustee for another MAT.
A strategic and driven leader, Rehana believes that collaboration, coaching, and strong leadership are key to sustained school improvement. She is committed to ensuring that every child in the Trust benefits from an excellent education in a culture of ambition and high expectations.
